Day-by-Day Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve by Air
Your 3-day Maasai Mara safari from Nairobi begins with a pick-up from your hotel and transfer to Wilson Airport.
Board your flight to the Maasai Mara and enjoy a spectacular aerial journey over Kenya’s landscapes. The flight offers wonderful views of the Great Rift Valley, and on clear days, you may be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro in neighboring Tanzania.
Upon arrival at the Mara airstrip, you will be met by your safari driver-guide.
Your safari begins immediately with a game drive from the airstrip, allowing you to start exploring the Maasai Mara before continuing to your lodge or camp.
Arrive at Ashnil Mara Camp or a similar lodge in time for lunch and check-in.
After lunch, relax for a while before heading out on a late-afternoon game drive.
As the afternoon cools, explore the Mara’s expansive grasslands in search of lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and other wildlife.
The golden afternoon light also provides excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.
Return to the camp or lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Game Viewing
Start the day with breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
The Mara is one of Kenya’s premier wildlife destinations and supports an extraordinary variety of animals. Search for the Big Five and other species as you explore the reserve’s open savannahs and riverine habitats.
Depending on wildlife movements and seasonal conditions, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, gazelles and hyenas.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, enjoy some time to relax and make use of the camp or lodge facilities before heading out for another late-afternoon game drive.
The afternoon safari offers another opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy the spectacular Mara landscape.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Rise early for your final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara.
Early morning is a rewarding time for wildlife viewing, with cooler temperatures and increased animal activity. Enjoy the sunrise over the savannah as you search for wildlife before returning to the lodge for a late breakfast.
Spend the remainder of the morning at leisure and enjoy the facilities at your camp or lodge.
After lunch, begin your final game drive en route to the Mara airstrip.
Board your flight back to Nairobi and enjoy one last aerial view of the Kenyan landscape.
Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be met and transferred back to your Nairobi hotel.
